About

Welcome!

Hi! My name is Sabrina Sullenberger and I have been in social work education for over 15 years, Currently I am a Professor of Social Work in Nashville, TN. Through my years of teaching, no matter what course I teach, I have realized that I strive to teach the concepts of the Beloved Community. I don’t claim to be an expert, but I have a passion for using a variety of mediums in my teaching, and also drawing on history to help students understand the current world. I desire for my learning environments to be a “brave space” (Arao & Clemens, 2013). I hope this becomes a space where you can turn to get ideas for your own teaching, whether that is in social work education, faith communities, or other community settings. All opinions here are my own; this blog is my creative space and a space which I hope encourages others, but is not specifically associated with my workplace or employment.
